Description

As association professionals, you forecast based on historical data to budget for membership growth and retention, conference attendance, etc. Although you can't predict the future, you also can't always rely on historical assumptions to help inform decisions. But what if you could use uncertainty as a starting point to build scenarios and help guide you in the decision-making process? This session will help you identify, assess, and adapt to risk and uncertainty as you plan for your association's future.

Attendees will learn:

  1. To be able to identify the risks facing your members and, by extension, your association
  2. To use the guiding principles learned to assess the impact of those risks
  3. To create solutions to address those scenarios you identified as being ones of risk to your members

Attendees will earn two CAE credits for this session.

The Association Laboratory’s Research Alliance was formed in 2019 to investigate the future of the association business model.

Research Alliance members are SAEs (Societies of Association Executives), which comprise the voice of association management professionals at the global, national, regional and state/provincial level.

Members of the Research Alliance participate in the production of various research activities—such as Association Laboratory’s Looking Forward,®   a global environmental scan of the association strategy environment and, most recently, the COVID-19 Impact Study—by involving their association executive members and stakeholders in these critical industry studies.
