DEI and the Ethics of a Diverse Leadership Model

Association Laboratory's Looking Forward® DEI study is the association sector's most current, comprehensive, and relevant study of DEI issues in associations. How can you use this data to inform and recruit diverse volunteer leaders?

The first hour of this session will highlight relevant data from more than 300 association leaders across 20 industry and professional sectors. It provides you with insight into how other associations are dealing with this complicated and often controversial topic including perceptions, challenges, strategies, and solutions to successful DEI efforts.

The second hour of this session will focus on connecting the DEI data to diverse leadership recruitment and retention. Identifying and recruiting a diverse leadership slate can be a tough job. What can you do right now to start laying track to recruit the leaders of tomorrow? What can you do in the short-term to improve an incoming leadership slate that isn’t as diverse as it should be? 

Attendees will receive:

• Data - Access to the Looking Forward survey dashboard, where you can customize results to gain greater insights into your organization. This includes the groundbreaking DEI study.
• Resources - The research-based, peer-driven white paper, Leading Strategic Change in Associations. It outlines recommendations from 25 CEOs on how to successfully lead strategic change.
• CAE Credit - Certificate for two CAE credits (live attendance required) that meet the ASAE “ethics” requirement.

Research Alliance members are SAEs (Societies of Association Executives), which comprise the voice of association management professionals at the global, national, regional and state/provincial level.
